Bernie Wu is VP of Business Development for MemVerge. He has 25+ years of experience as a senior executive for data center hardware and software infrastructure companies including companies such as Conner/Seagate, Cheyenne Software, Trend Micro, FalconStor, Levyx, and MetalSoft. He is also on the Board of Directors for Cirrus Data Solutions. Bernie has a BS/MS in Engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from UCLA.

In this keynote, Dr. Charles Fan will share his vision for a new era of Big Memory Computing and the benefits it brings to modern applications. 50 years after the invention of DRAM, the emergence of Big Memory Computing represents a significant shift in the way data-hungry applications and technologies, such as AI, are handled in the mainstream. With the increasing demand for lower cost, abundant, and composable memory, the industry has responded by completely refreshing the memory tier, including operating platforms, semiconductors, and applications. In this new era, memory is elevated to the status of a first-class citizen in the datacenter. Vast amounts of data are stored in memory, supported by peta-scale lakes of composable memory. This paradigm allows for faster and more efficient processing of large datasets, enabling data-intensive applications to operate at unprecedented speeds. The adoption of Big Memory Computing brings several benefits. First, by keeping large amounts of data in memory, latency is greatly reduced compared to traditional storage systems, resulting in faster access and processing times. This is particularly crucial for real-time applications and AI algorithms that require immediate responses.
